The goal is always to help the horse feel more present and functional in their body. Pain is often a clue, but we also need to look at range of motion, movement, and even how the horse tends to stand. Emotions are stored in the body, so we also address what a horse is hiding or holding on to. Then we start asking, which came first, the emotion or the physical issue? It’s quite a puzzle to put together, but so rewarding when a horse feels whole again. 🥰 #equinebodywork #equinereiki

There are a variety, and the reason I reach for one of my red or infrared therapy pieces will depend on the horse. That’s one reason why I love the RevitaVet products! Unlike a blanket, I can apply only what I need to, right where I want it. In this case, the horse benefited from the anti-inflammatory effects of the LEPT (low energy photon therapy), which in this area helps to ease any tension the horse is carrying in the poll, and often results in an extremely relaxed and calm horse. Scuba was one of the animals in my life that sent Scuba was one of the animals in my life that sent me down the road of learning how to do things differently. Born with health issues as the runt of the litter, he had arthritis early on as well as the most sensitive stomach ever. From his youth, his vet always said he had “the heart of a puppy and the joints of an old man”. He made up for his wee start by growing up to be 80 lbs of lap dog. ❤️ One thing that made a big difference in his comfort level was getting regular bodywork done. Sometimes it was massage, sometimes acupuncture, and occasionally chiropractic when farm life got a little too rough. I began studying body mechanics and energy healing to help support him in between sessions. He absolutely adored his horses, especially the minis. When they were getting vet treatments, he was standing just outside their fence, letting them know he was there to support them. One time, my yearling comforted *him* when he got scared, snuggling her nose into his side with her head and neck through the fence. Eventually I realized she was treating an acupressure point on him! Cancer took Scuba in August of 2020, and his spirit remains with me today, inspiring me to keep learning, and to keep healing animals and those around them. #animalbodywork #animalmassage #reikihealer #quantumreiki #acupressure
